Self Guided Programs

Take troop programming to a new level. Many Point's prime location enables your troop to choose from a wide variety of activities, both outside and inside of the reservation, to be done and run independantly by you.

Itasca State Park - At Many Point you are only 35 minutes away from the start of the mighty Mississippi River. Plan an afternoon away from camp that includes exploration of this exciting park and traversing the headwaters of this great landmark. web address

Tamarac Wildlife Refuge - We are bordered by a 143,000 acre wildlife refuge with a fully staffed visitor center. website

Heartland Trails - Miles of well maintained bike trails exist for your troop to ride. website

Back of the Moon Hike - In the 1940s this was the secret retreat for Many Point's founder Wint Hartman. This special, secluded place is about a five mile hike from camp. It's not easy to get to but it is worth the trip.

Back of the Moon Overnight - You've taken the big hike, why not stay awhile? 3 log adirondack shelters are located on a crest above the lake for your troop's use.

Yurt Overnight - Arrive by canoe or kayak at a secluded spot on Many Point Lake where your troop can stay in a 20ft diameter round mongolian tent, complete with skylight.

Troop Sauna - A trip to the north land of Minnesota is not complete without experiencing a real sauna. Work with your commissioner to reserve a night to use the sauna located at your camp's beach.
